The owner was incredibly thoughtful and helpful.
Upon arrival, the accommodation was cold, and we found ourselves without water initially. While the owners did address the water issue, the overall cleanliness was lacking. the windows were dirty, and the interior felt stale. The lack of basic amenities like a kitchen further complicated our experience, leaving us dissatisfied with our stay.

I stayed for one night while riding through the area. The accommodation was a converted barn that felt secure and spacious enough for a group of five. I appreciated the local pub nearby for its home-cooked meals. Unfortunately, the lack of a kitchen and some maintenance issues made things a bit challenging, but overall, it was a memorable experience.

The quirky spiral staircase added a unique touch to the space and provided a bit of character. The garden setting offered a nice spot to unwind after a long day in our travels.
Unfortunately, the place had some real maintenance issues. For starters, there were damp smells filling the living room and the carpets were heavily stained. The absence of a kitchen made basic tasks inconvenient, as we had to rely on water upstairs and risked hearing private conversations from the owner's side due to a large window overlooking the living room. The bathroom was particularly troublesome, with a wobbly toilet seat and exposed electric cables posing safety concerns. The lack of basic amenities like milk or sugar for coffee added to our dissatisfaction, especially for the price point. It was a mixed bag of experience, with potential but needing serious attention to details.

Andover's hidden gem 🌳✨
The spiral staircase was such a cool surprise, and super spacious for all of us! Loved the quiet little garden around, perfect for sipping on beers after a long day. Harriet was like a chommie, made us feel really at home!
Could've used a sink downstairs, ja no, made washing up a bit of a mission.

Had a fab stay for one night. The beds were ‘super comfy’ and I loved the quirky charm of the place. A bit too hot without summer quilts though!

chalkcroft lodge was a truly hidden gem! the hosts were super helpful and welcoming, making me feel right at home from the moment i arrived. the place is really spacious and has a nice layout, def one of the best spots for a mini break. you got everything you need for a short stay, including comfy beds and a beautiful setting. plus, the local pub had fab home-cooked food, which was awesome after a long ride.
only downsides were no kitchen and the quilts were way too thick for the heat. could've used summer quilts instead.

The apartment was poorly maintained, with damp smells throughout, especially in the living room. The carpets were stained, and the bedding felt cold and damp. the bathroom posed safety concerns with exposed wires and a wobbly toilet seat, while the lack of a downstairs sink made basic tasks inconvenient. Hot water ran out quickly after one shower, complicating our stay further.
